Westworld - Theme park with no limits

Westworld is a fantasy theme wark where visitors have the freedom to do whatever they want and get what they can only wish in the real world with the law. The Westworld will serve the Law only to in the favor of visitors and the 'hosts' are the one who serves as the play tools in the park and real human beings 'visitors' can play and use them without limits. 

What and sci-fi story is this one of the best in this kind. There are a lot of things we can talk about this series. so join with me for the thrifty journey through the canyons in WestWorld.

Idea of Westworld

The story is based on a movie produced 1973 called Westworld, yeap the same name has been used for the tv series as well, in the movie the story was based around a theme park where they can play and enjoy like the Jurrasic park or like Disney world where you get amusement through different activities for what you pay. Westworld tv series also based on the same concept but it has been upgraded several levels deep to take the visitors away from reality so the visitors feel detached from the real world and enjoy the park to the maximum.

WW

The people behind the productions of WW were Leesa joy and Jonathan Nolan, Jonathan is the brother of Christopher Nolan both famous for delivering mystery, mind-boggling sci-fi movies and tv shows.

WW happens in the future where the technology is advanced enough to manufacture human-like robots where they serve as Hosts in WW. So WW is situated on an island near china region that has been dedicated to hosting this theme park. The project is to make the surroundings look like a wild west placed in the late '90s. Then there are the guests who paid an expensive ticket to get this experienced that clearly, they can't get in the outside real world. Then there's the bonus inside the theme park you can do whatever you can do inside the WW (No rules) imagination is the limit.

Basic Rules in the park

As I said there are no rules but they are few constraints for the hosts (robots). The main reason for these constraints to take care of humans from hosts. lives inside the park. The main restraints are implemented to the firing mechanism of the guns. 

For Hosts - the bullet kills 

For Guest - the bullet doesn't kill

Tip: Since you can't differentiate the hosts apart from the guest you can look at the firing scenes in this show to differentiate them, so it will be less confusing.

The hosts can't hurt a guest but a guest can hurt a host otherwise it won't be fun. Since there's no limit for the murdering that a guest can do the WW can get pretty nasty when a fight occurs and the guest decides to be John Wick. So at the end of every day, the park gets cleaned up by workers and they replace the dead hosts with repaired hosts so that guests can continue to enjoy killing them again.

The Park

If you're coming back from season 01 you may have only seen a part of the park. So spoiler alert there's more to this park than wildest experience in the 1st season we are only exposed to the wildest side and the characters dedicated to that are and the experience. There are nearly 200 hosts in the area so the park control has few different departments dedicated to different areas in the park-like,

Control room

They can oversee every bit of activity happening inside the park and it has the control to control all the hosts inside the park. They have cameras and mic implemented to get every angle and conversations happening inside the park. There was a set of codes implemented into hosts where they have given rules and the.

Manufacturing

The crew always wanted to give new thrilling experiences to the visitors so they come up with new experiences like new rollercoaster rides in a park so they have a dedicated department to manufacture new hosts.

Repairing and Troubleshooting

In this department, they mainly work at the malfunctioned hosts and the dead hosts (killed by guests). The crew repairs their hardware components and if needed they give software tweaks to change the behavior and put them into the park to let the guest have their fun with them.

Why is the story is confusing?

The story runs mainly on 2 timelines,

1. The Young William and Logan are in the current timeline and it's around 2020.
2. the Man in Balck (who is originally William just got old in the park) is living around 2052 and at the same time Maeve is trying to escape the park.

One other reason that you may not be able to apart these 2 timelines is that hosts (Robots) don't age with the time they keep their same looks between these timelines simple because they get repaired every day. But throughout this time-period some hosts (like Dolores and Maeve) act on different kinds of stories, that's why further into the series they have these different dreams and memories of them being other characters. 

Logan & William

Logan and William having contrast qualities among them make them the perfect duo in the WW. Logan's sister, Juliet is going to marry Williams, so as a present and a way to get know each other Logan decided to take his brother in Law for a trip to the Westworld, Logan has been to the park before but for William, this is a new experience, so he gets this standard visitor welcome in the WW choosing his outfit and equipment (weapons), in the end, he had a choice between Black and White hats and he chose the white one, it is a rhetorical way of saying that his character in the park gonna be white which says he is going to play a good boy character. But after a few episodes, you will realize that William's character has some deeper levels.

Why Dolores and Maeve different from other robots?

The early founders of this theme park are Dr. Robert Ford and Arnold Weber they together developed this technology and implement them in this park and Dolores is one of the finest creations of Arnold. Since they had R&D provided by William's and Logan's company they went on to make this theme park to attract high-class customers. 

But Arnold wanted to make hosts go beyond the scope of robots and give them the ability to have their own conscience, up to than Dr, Ford was developing robots such that the controllers can erase the memory (usual visuals of guest murdering them) to be wiped but Robert gave them the sense of conscience by letting the hosts hear their programming codes like an inner voice inside them.

This method took some time to work and the Dolores were the first hosts to achieve real conscience through this method, mainly because she is the first host developed in the park. Test to realize whether they have achieved the conscience is the Finding the center of Maze.
